Market Days Directors, Staff and Volunteers

DIRECTOR
Sarah C is a Chartered Surveyor who is passionate about reframing the built environment to offer the most effective platform for culturally lead opportunity and regeneration. Placemaking in a heritage town is a fantastic opportunity where dynamic activities enhance the environment and encourage resilience and investment in the town historic buildings and public spaces.

DIRECTOR
Claire K has previous experience of Regeneration as the project manager for the Shaping Newport Project from Sept 2018 to August 2020. Part of her role in the partnership was as the Newport Town Centre Champion; acting as a visible, single point of cpontact for the town with the brief to drive positive change. This background gives her exceptional stakeholder connections and excellent relationships with the key Newport businesses and organisations. Claire was the author of the Newport High Street Heritage Action Zone bid application and the programme plan and therefore has detailed background knowledge of the aims and objectives of the regeneration strategy for Newport.

EVENTS COORDINATOR
Eve G started off on a Kickstart Programme back in Summer 2021 and is now working for Market Days CIC on a full time basis! Eve is and always has been passionate about organising and hosting events whether that be for friends or family. Eve’s brother also used to work in the markets about 10 years ago with Godshill Organics – so she’s following in his footsteps there! Before working for Market Days CIC, Eve used to work in hospitality doing waitressing and bar work.

ISLAND BUSKING COORDINATOR
Essjay is the newest member of the Market Days team, starting out on a kickstart programme. Ess has always had an interest in music as well as building a sense of community, which is why they are so keen on bringing people together through busking. They just finished their BTEC Music course from Platform One College of Music with a triple distinction! They’re a keen learner and can’t wait to see the exciting changes coming to Newport.
